{"id":1008,"date":"2018-09-09T23:34:32","date_gmt":"2018-09-09T23:34:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/exhaustnotes.us\/blog\/?p=1008"},"modified":"2021-03-16T14:05:17","modified_gmt":"2021-03-16T21:05:17","slug":"burts-stunning-i-do-photo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/exhaustnotes.us\/blog\/index.php\/2018\/09\/09\/burts-stunning-i-do-photo\/","title":{"rendered":"Burt&#8217;s stunning &#8220;I do&#8221; photo&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I posted this photo a year or so ago when I was writing the CSC blog, and it&#8217;s worth posting again.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_12511\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-12511\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-12511 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/exhaustnotes.us\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/Burt.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"543\" srcset=\"https:\/\/exhaustnotes.us\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/Burt.jpg 600w, https:\/\/exhaustnotes.us\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/Burt-300x272.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 709px) 85vw, (max-width: 909px) 67vw, (max-width: 984px) 61vw, (max-width: 1362px) 45vw, 600px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-12511\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo by good buddy Burt!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The <em>Reader&#8217;s Digest<\/em> version of the story goes like this: \u00a0 When we did the Western America Adventure Ride (you can read all about that in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/5000-Miles-At-8000-RPM\/dp\/1517355354\"><em>5000 Miles at 8000 RPM<\/em><\/a>), one of the places my good buddy Baja John found to spend the night was Panguitch, Utah, just outside of Bryce Canyon National Park.\u00a0 The area and the little town of Panguitch were a lot of fun, we were having a grand time, and then I got to feeling guilty.\u00a0 That happens a lot on the group tours, and it&#8217;s because I&#8217;m not sharing the adventure with my girlfriend, Sue. \u00a0 But I have an app for that&#8230;I do the trip again and bring Sue along.<\/p>\n<p>Fast forward a couple of years, and Sue and I found ourselves waiting to be seated at the Cowboy BBQ, the best restaurant in Panguitch (there&#8217;s always a line to get in).\u00a0 When we were seated, another couple came in behind us.\u00a0 Burt saw my Nikon and asked if I was a photographer. \u00a0 One thing led to another, and Sue and I and Burt and Roz had a great dinner that night. \u00a0 We became good friends.<\/p>\n<p>Fast forward a little more and Burt sent the above photo to me, but it was not just any photo. \u00a0 Burt had just won a DPReview.com contest with it (the subject was newlyweds).<\/p>\n<p>Nice work, Burt, and thanks for sharing your fabulous photo with us!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I posted this photo a year or so ago when I was writing the CSC blog, and it&#8217;s worth posting again.
