They can be decorative, ot they can be used for cooking. href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/search?ie=UTF8&amp;tag=exhaustnotes-20&amp;linkCode=ur2&amp;linkId=a6dae0cc8754f202df261c6467ac6bf0&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=9325&amp;index=aps&amp;keywords=authentic New Mexico salsas\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">authentic New Mexico salsas<\/a>: In New Mexico Mexican restaurants the question that every waiter asks is:\u00a0 Green or red?\u00a0 That&#8217;s for the kind of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/search?ie=UTF8&amp;tag=exhaustnotes-20&amp;linkCode=ur2&amp;linkId=4a77af3de918ce0c88db930535e88524&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=9325&amp;index=aps&amp;keywords=authentic New Mexico salsas\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">salsa<\/a> you want with your meal.\u00a0 Red salsa is made of crushed red chiles that are reconstituted into a red liquid salsa.\u00a0 \u00a0Green is a bit chunkier with larger pepper pieces included in the mix.\u00a0 They told us that green is the spicier of the two, but I think it depends on the restaurant.\u00a0 The New Mexicans advised us that a good answer for the red or green question is &#8220;Christmas, on the side.&#8221;\u00a0 You know, red and green.\u00a0 That will get you a dish of each <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/search?ie=UTF8&amp;tag=exhaustnotes-20&amp;linkCode=ur2&amp;linkId=4a77af3de918ce0c88db930535e88524&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=9325&amp;index=aps&amp;keywords=authentic in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/search?ie=UTF8&amp;tag=exhaustnotes-20&amp;linkCode=ur2&amp;linkId=3506d098f5c3f89fdd9d1f2a2d02d3df&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=9325&amp;index=aps&amp;keywords=old town Albuquerque\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">old town Albuquerque<\/a>, so we ate at a Mexican place just outside of Old Town.\u00a0 I love New Mexico, but I&#8217;m convinced any restaurant in or close to a tourist destination is going to be mediocre.\u00a0 Our lunch didn&#8217;t change my mind.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_19168\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-19168\" of the restaurants in Old Town.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The San Felipe de Neri Church is one of the oldest buildings in Albuquerque.\u00a0 It dominates <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/search?ie=UTF8&amp;tag=exhaustnotes-20&amp;linkCode=ur2&amp;linkId=3506d098f5c3f89fdd9d1f2a2d02d3df&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=9325&amp;index=aps&amp;keywords=old town Albuquerque\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">old town Albuquerque<\/a>.\u00a0 This church was originally used by Franciscan missionaries.\u00a0 It&#8217;s still in use.\u00a0 All of the tourists (and there were a lot of them) congregated outside the church.\u00a0 I checked the door and it was unlocked.\u00a0 I ducked inside and grabbed a quick available light photo.<\/p>\n<figure
