{"id":28271,"date":"2024-11-06T00:01:54","date_gmt":"2024-11-06T08:01:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/exhaustnotes.us\/blog\/?p=28271"},"modified":"2024-10-29T14:19:18","modified_gmt":"2024-10-29T21:19:18","slug":"krabi-thailand","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/exhaustnotes.us\/blog\/index.php\/2024\/11\/06\/krabi-thailand\/","title":{"rendered":"Krabi, Thailand"},"content":{"rendered":"<h6>By Mike Huber<\/h6>\n<p>After 5 weeks on Koh Tao it was time to move on to explore more of Thailand.\u00a0 I was becoming complacent and really had a lot more to experience in Thailand before my visa expired.\u00a0 Being comfortable in one place was a new feeling for me, and although it was a wonderful feeling it also meant that I wasn\u2019t growing, which was a huge part of undertaking this journey. There was a lot of Thailand I hadn\u2019t explored yet, but I wasn\u2019t up for a flight.\u00a0 So, after talking with others the city of Krabi kept coming up as a place of beauty.\u00a0 So Krabi it was.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-28278\" src=\"https:\/\/exhaustnotes.us\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/20241008_111407.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" srcset=\"https:\/\/exhaustnotes.us\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/20241008_111407.jpg 600w, https:\/\/exhaustnotes.us\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/20241008_111407-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 709px) 85vw, (max-width: 909px) 67vw, (max-width: 984px) 61vw, (max-width: 1362px) 45vw, 600px\" \/> Krabi is a rather large city and after having recently spent two weeks in Bangkok, I was really done with large cities.\u00a0 As with most cities you really cannot absorb the full culture there.\u00a0 Yes, there are museums, temples, and other tourist attractions, but to fully feel the true heartbeat of a region you need to travel off the beaten path, which in most cases means meandering around the countryside.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-28277\" src=\"https:\/\/exhaustnotes.us\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/20241008_110502.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"270\" srcset=\"https:\/\/exhaustnotes.us\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/20241008_110502.jpg 600w, https:\/\/exhaustnotes.us\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/20241008_110502-300x135.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 709px) 85vw, (max-width: 909px) 67vw, (max-width: 984px) 61vw, (max-width: 1362px) 45vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Ao Nang is the \u201ccountryside\u201d of Krabi, and although Ao Nang wasn\u2019t that far off the beaten path, it was near the Andaman Sea.\u00a0 \u00a0There is easy access to ferries that could bring you to any number of islands quickly. This would make for a perfect base for a week in order to partake in island hopping day trips and even an overnight trip to Railay Beach.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-28276\" src=\"https:\/\/exhaustnotes.us\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/20241006_125522.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"270\" srcset=\"https:\/\/exhaustnotes.us\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/20241006_125522.jpg 600w, https:\/\/exhaustnotes.us\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/20241006_125522-300x135.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 709px) 85vw, (max-width: 909px) 67vw, (max-width: 984px) 61vw, (max-width: 1362px) 45vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Railay Beach wasn\u2019t an island, but a remote peninsula that was only accessible by long tail boat.\u00a0 Just a 15-minute boat ride and you were on what felt like on another planet.\u00a0 The beach was beautiful with crystal clear waters around limestone mountains that popped out of the ocean in every direction.\u00a0 There were monkeys running around and even parrots in the trees above me. The people here were on island time; there was no rush or hurry to do anything.
