Baime writes a weekly &#8220;My Ride&#8221; column for the <em>Wall Street Journal<\/em>.\u00a0 It&#8217;s something I greatly enjoy.\u00a0 \u00a0The stories are always interesting.\u00a0 Most of the time, the Baime columns are about cars.\u00a0 This week&#8217;s piece was about a motorcycle; to be specific, a 650 Royal Enfield twin.\u00a0 That&#8217;s a marvelous motorcycle.\u00a0 I know.\u00a0 I ride one.\u00a0 Mine is the orange one you see above.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_28419\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-28419\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-28419 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/exhaustnotes.us\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/Forgione.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"750\" srcset=\"https:\/\/exhaustnotes.us\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/Forgione.jpg 600w, https:\/\/exhaustnotes.us\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/Forgione-240x300.jpg 240w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 709px) 85vw, (max-width: 909px) 67vw, (max-width: 984px) 61vw, (max-width: 1362px) 45vw, 600px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-28419\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Marc Forgione on his Royal Enfield 650 INT in New York City.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>This week&#8217;s story was about a chef (Marc Forgione), a man who owns three restaurants in New York City.\u00a0 Mr. Forgione appropriately concluded that a motorcycle is a great way to navigate New York City&#8217;s traffic and parking challenges.\u00a0 \u00a0I think that&#8217;s pretty cool.\u00a0 \u00a0New York law does not allow splitting lanes, but my guess is that Forgione is a well-known guy and local police officers look the other way (Lord knows they have enough real crime on their beats).\u00a0 Lane splitting is legal here in California and I do it all the time.
