{"id":33028,"date":"2026-05-09T00:01:22","date_gmt":"2026-05-09T07:01:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/exhaustnotes.us\/blog\/?p=33028"},"modified":"2026-05-05T13:24:20","modified_gmt":"2026-05-05T20:24:20","slug":"fly-buy-eye-and-say-goodbye","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/exhaustnotes.us\/blog\/index.php\/2026\/05\/09\/fly-buy-eye-and-say-goodbye\/","title":{"rendered":"Fly, Buy, Eye, and Say Goodbye"},"content":{"rendered":"<h6>By Joe Berk<\/h6>\n<p>Cheap is good.\u00a0 In a world of $20K, $30K, $40K, and $50K motorcycles, it&#8217;s especially good.<\/p>\n<p>The idea of flying to another continent, buying a cheap motorcycle, riding cross country, and then selling the bike and flying home is an appealing one.\u00a0 That&#8217;s why when good buddy Marty sent a link to this video, I knew I would watch it.\u00a0 \u00a0I enjoyed it and I think you will, too.<\/p>\n<p><iframe title=\"We Never Expected this at the Golden Gate Bridge!\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/ACJyT7M4tQo\" width=\"957\" height=\"538\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>I like single-cylinder inexpensive motorcycles, having <a href=\"http:\/\/www.exhaustnotes.us\/Rides.html\">toured the Americas and China<\/a> on RX3\/RS3 motorcycles (which are Zongshen 250cc singles).\u00a0 I like Enfields, too, and I wanted to learn more about the Himalayan.\u00a0 When Gresh and I tested Enfields down in Baja, I liked the Enfield Interceptor so much I bought one when we returned.\u00a0 We also had an Enfield Bullet on that Baja ride (it was their 500cc Bullet).\u00a0 Both Gresh and I really wanted to like the Bullet, but it was a bust.\u00a0 \u00a0The Bullet had experienced several breakdowns (read <a href=\"https:\/\/exhaustnotes.us\/blog\/index.php\/2019\/03\/19\/the-bullet-in-baja\/\">my take on the Bullet here<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/exhaustnotes.us\/blog\/index.php\/2019\/03\/22\/the-bullet\/\">here<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/exhaustnotes.us\/blog\/index.php\/2019\/03\/23\/the-bullet-take-2\/\">Gresh&#8217;s take<\/a> on the same bike) and because we didn&#8217;t trust the bike, we turned around at Guerrero Negro instead of riding further south to Muleg\u00e9.<\/p>\n<figure style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/exhaustnotes.us\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/20190318_0509-600.jpg\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">Gresh on a Bullet in Baja.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The Bullet was considerate, though.\u00a0 Its last breakdown occurred just as we arrived home (it was a stripped rear sprocket at just a few thousand miles;
