Orange is the fastest color.\u00a0 Ask Orlando.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>As you&#8217;re reading this, Gresh and I are having another excellent breakfast at the <a href=\"http:\/\/exhaustnotes.us\/blog\/index.php\/2019\/03\/02\/malinalli-sabores-autoctonos\/\">Malinalli Sabores Aut\u00f3ctonos<\/a> restaurant next to the Hacienda Hotel in Tecate, where we arrived last night after another excellent day on the road.\u00a0 As you know, we&#8217;ve had a ton of rain this winter, and I&#8217;ve never seen Baja so green, orange, and yellow.\u00a0 The wine country south of Ensenada was stunningly vibrant, the orange and yellow wildflowers were in full bloom, the sky was a brilliant blue, and the Interceptor was perfect. \u00a0 Folks, there are few things in life that are as much fun as a Baja motorcycle ride. \u00a0 Doing it on the Enfields was a special treat.\u00a0 Trust me on this.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_3441\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-3441\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-3441\" src=\"http:\/\/exhaustnotes.us\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/20190319_0658-600.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" srcset=\"https:\/\/exhaustnotes.us\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/20190319_0658-600.jpg 600w, https:\/\/exhaustnotes.us\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/20190319_0658-600-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 709px) 85vw, (max-width: 909px) 67vw, (max-width: 984px) 61vw, (max-width: 1362px) 45vw, 600px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-3441\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The Old Mill Hotel in San Quintin, one of Baja&#8217;s best kept secrets and a must see spot for any motorcycle ride.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>We rolled out of the Old Mill Hotel in San Quintin late, soaking up the morning sun and enjoying coffee prepared by one of our hotel neighbors.\u00a0 It was an easy run up Mexico 1 and we set a leisurely pace. \u00a0 We encountered the same construction delay in the mountains we experienced on the ride south&#8230;you know, one of those deals where they stop traffic going each way while folks going the other way have to wait for all of the other folks who have been waiting. \u00a0 Today was a bit more interesting.\u00a0 As an 18-wheeler passed a trailer (a trailer that was somehow associated with two guys riding BMWs&#8230;do the GS models always come with a support trailer?), it hit the trailer on a tight corner. \u00a0 That one could get messy.\u00a0 I hope those riders had their <a href=\"http:\/\/www.BajaBound.com\">BajaBound<\/a> insurance.\u00a0 We sure did.\u00a0 I never enter Baja without my <a href=\"http:\/\/www.BajaBound.com\">BajaBound<\/a> insurance.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_3442\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-3442\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-3442\" src=\"http:\/\/exhaustnotes.us\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/20190319_0668-600.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" srcset=\"https:\/\/exhaustnotes.us\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/20190319_0668-600.jpg 600w, https:\/\/exhaustnotes.us\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/20190319_0668-600-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 709px) 85vw, (max-width: 909px) 67vw, (max-width: 984px) 61vw, (max-width: 1362px) 45vw, 600px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-3442\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Ouch!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>After that, we entered the mess that is Ensenada, but we filtered through it quickly.\u00a0 Then it was on to the Ruta del Vino, a quick stop at the L.A. Cetto vineyard tasting room. We didn&#8217;t taste any wine because we were on the bikes, but I bought a Cabernet to take home.
