{"id":34823,"date":"2026-10-09T00:01:09","date_gmt":"2026-10-09T07:01:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/exhaustnotes.us\/blog\/?p=34823"},"modified":"2026-10-08T13:38:55","modified_gmt":"2026-10-08T20:38:55","slug":"billy-joels-motorcycle-auction","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/exhaustnotes.us\/blog\/index.php\/2026\/10\/09\/billy-joels-motorcycle-auction\/","title":{"rendered":"Billy Joel&#8217;s Motorcycle Auction"},"content":{"rendered":"<h6>By Joe Berk<\/h6>\n<p>I&#8217;ve been a Billy Joel fan for as long as I can remember, and I&#8217;m guessing if you are reading this blog, you are, too.\u00a0 I like everything about Billy Joel, and I especially like the fact that he is a fellow east coast guy and a motorcycle enthusiast.<\/p>\n<p>Billy Joel is 77 years old now, and when you get on in years, things go south (don&#8217;t ask me how I know).\u00a0 He was diagnosed with normal pressure hydrocephalus (NPH) last year, a brain disorder where spinal fluid builds up in the brain.\u00a0 It usually occurs in older adults and it has no known cause.\u00a0 It&#8217;s incurable.\u00a0 Like a lot of things us older folks get, all the doctors can do is treat the symptoms, and the symptoms of this affliction are life altering.<\/p>\n<p>As a result of the diagnosis, Billy Joel canceled all remaining concerts and he&#8217;s selling his motorcycle collection.\u00a0 His music is amazing; his successes even more so.\u00a0 Billy Joel has had 33 of his songs in the US Top 40.\u00a0 Just a few of his songs include <em>It&#8217;s Still Rock and Roll to Me<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Tell Her About It<\/em>,\u00a0<em>We Didn&#8217;t Start the Fire<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Piano Man<\/em>, <em>Uptown Girl<\/em>, and <em>Only the Good Die Young<\/em>.\u00a0 There are many, many more.\u00a0 If you&#8217;re like me, when you read those titles you hear the music in your head.<\/p>\n<p>Just a few of the motorcycles from the Billy Joel collection being auctioned (there are 70 in total) are shown below:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-34829\" src=\"https:\/\/exhaustnotes.us\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/BJConnection.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"1350\" srcset=\"https:\/\/exhaustnotes.us\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/BJConnection.jpg 600w, https:\/\/exhaustnotes.us\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/BJConnection-133x300.jpg 133w, https:\/\/exhaustnotes.us\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/BJConnection-455x1024.jpg 455w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 709px) 85vw, (max-width: 909px) 67vw, (max-width: 984px) 61vw, (max-width: 1362px) 45vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The motorcycles are all interesting, as Billy Joel&#8217;s taste in motorcycles is eclectic.\u00a0 The two-auction will take place on Friday, November 20, and Saturday, November 21, in New York.\u00a0 The bikes are being auctioned by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.goodingco.com\/lots\">Gooding Christie&#8217;s<\/a>.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<style>\r\n        .wpedon-container .wpedon-select,\r\n        .wpedon-container .wpedon-input {\r\n            width: 171px;\r\n            min-width: 171px;\r\n            max-width: 171px;\r\n        }\r\n    <\/style><div class='wpedon-container wpedon-align-center'><form target='_blank' action='https:\/\/www.paypal.com\/cgi-bin\/webscr' method='post' class='wpedon-form'><input type='hidden' name='cmd' value='_donations' \/><input type='hidden' name='business' value='ExNotes@ExhaustNotes.us' \/><input type='hidden' name='currency_code' value='USD' \/><input type='hidden' name='notify_url' value='https:\/\/exhaustnotes.us\/blog\/wp-admin\/admin-post.php?action=add_wpedon_button_ipn'><input type='hidden' name='lc' value='en_US'><input type='hidden' name='bn' value='WPPlugin_SP'><input type='hidden' name='return' value='' \/><input type='hidden' name='cancel_return' value='' \/><input class='wpedon_paypalbuttonimage' type='image' src='https:\/\/www.paypal.com\/en_US\/i\/btn\/btn_donateCC_LG.gif' border='0' name='submit' alt='Make your payments with PayPal.
