{"id":5868,"date":"2019-09-11T10:29:52","date_gmt":"2019-09-11T17:29:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/exhaustnotes.us\/blog\/?p=5868"},"modified":"2022-07-09T00:32:00","modified_gmt":"2022-07-09T07:32:00","slug":"the-best-boss-i-ever-had","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/exhaustnotes.us\/blog\/index.php\/2019\/09\/11\/the-best-boss-i-ever-had\/","title":{"rendered":"The Best Boss I Ever Had"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Gresh and I have done a couple of blogs about great guys for whom we&#8217;ve worked, and in thinking about that last night I asked myself:\u00a0 Who&#8217;s the best boss I ever had? \u00a0The answer was both immediate and easy:\u00a0 Captain Omer McCants.\u00a0 I was a young lieutenant in Korea and Captain McCants was an old man (he was a 28-year-old Captain).\u00a0 Captain McCants was my battery commander and he was a major influence on my approach to work, leadership, and life in general.\u00a0 While remembering those good old days, I did a Google search and this appeared:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.witnesstowar.org\/combat_stories\/Vietnam\/7065\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-5869 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/exhaustnotes.us\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/CptMcCants.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"368\" srcset=\"https:\/\/exhaustnotes.us\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/CptMcCants.jpg 600w, https:\/\/exhaustnotes.us\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/CptMcCants-300x184.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 709px) 85vw, (max-width: 909px) 67vw, (max-width: 984px) 61vw, (max-width: 1362px) 45vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Nah, can&#8217;t be, I thought.\u00a0 But it was.\u00a0 Captain McCants retired as a Lt.
