I guess we struck a nerve with the blog yesterday featuring Thai moto taxis, and I received a couple of emails asking if I had more photos. Indeed I do, folks…
The orange vest denotes a taxi rider, and I guess Thai law requires that they wear helmets (but their passengers do not have to). So much for ATGATT in Thailand. Another commenter said it was amazing that that female passengers never lost shoes. I thought it was amazing that none ever seemed to fall off (it looks like a precarious perch). I took all of the photos you see here in the space of maybe 5 minutes.
Yeah – I was kinda curious about that falling off thing too.
Yeah, I never saw that happen. On the bigger streets, some of the speeds get pretty high, too.
Any idea how much for a quick bop to work or school or the market?
I wondered that, too. I just Googled it and TripAdvisor says it’s about 25-30 baht for a short ride, which is just under a dollar.
I could not help but notice that three of these young ladies were looking right at you. I guess they could not resist checking you out. Must have thought you were a famous talent scout from Hollywood.
Thai women are the most beautiful women of the world. Thanks for showing us a nice cross-section.
I’d agree, Terry, but SWMBO (She Who Must Be Obeyed) would kick my butt.
